Noam Mantel Chief Product Officer

Experienced product leadership for companies
that can't afford to wait.

02 The Why

Timing an executive Product hire is hard.

You don't want every product decision to flow through you, but you still need to set the vision. The team is shipping constantly, but it can often feel like the wrong direction.

A fractional engagement is the bridge: senior judgment from the type of professional you'd hire in eighteen months, applied where you actually need it.

The right time is when you need someone who knows what good looks like, but you can't give away your LEGOs just yet. For most companies, that's typically Series A through C.

03 Engagements

Four ways we can work together.

Each engagement scoped to a specific moment in the company's arc.

01

Fractional CPO

Operate as a part-time member of the executive team.

I'd be an exec in your org, just part time. I am in Slack channels, get on customer calls, run product and design reviews, mentor PMs and designers, enable everyone to ship, and partner with the exec team. The org I build with you is the one your eventual full-time hire walks into. They won't spend their first six months rebuilding what should already exist.

1–5 PMs, not yet ready for a strategic CPO6–12 months

02

Interim Head of Product

Keep the product org moving while the seat is empty.

Whether you're between leaders or someone is out on leave, I work with your team so decisions keep getting made, the roadmap holds, and your PMs come out of it better than they went in.

Typically later stage3–6 months

03

Advisory

Working directly with the exec team.

Recurring strategic sessions with the exec team. Most useful for companies who have well-functioning Director-level PMs but want a more experienced pattern-matcher keeping up with today's market.

Typically Seed–Series BAs long as you need

04

Product Mentorship

A senior sounding board for your product lead.

A regular cadence with your product lead, working through the problems in front of them with someone who has already solved that exact problem in a few different companies. This is how you see around corners without hiring for it.

Great team, missing functional guidanceOngoing

04 Background

17 years of Product, across legacy enterprise, AI-native, and everything between.

These roles represent products shipped, experiments run, business models tried and many many learned lessons.

  1. CHIEF PRODUCT OFFICER

    Valence

An AI-native company rebuilding how humans work with one another. Joined fractional during the $50M Series B, then ran a product org where PMs and designers merged their own pull requests.

  2. VP Product

    Slack

Owned every surface a Slack user touches on a normal day: from emojis to Slack Connect, Search to Trust & Safety, and the underlying systems that made EPD tick. This is the stuff that makes Slack loved by a five-person startup and by the three-hundred-thousand-person company that runs on it as their operating system. Small product tweaks called for my head in tech blogs. This product is loved.

  3. Head of Product, Data

    Anheuser-Busch InBev

The definition of a legacy consumer behemoth. Siloed business units and execs who have worked there for 30 years. Moved them from spreadsheets-in-email to a data platform every team across 150 operating companies could actually use; the foundation that teed them up for the AI era and the equivalent of a Master's in change management.

  4. Head of Product

    Songtrust

You haven't seen messy until you've seen music publishing. Reimagined the core accounting and rights-management system the entire industry ran on. Ear-opening on multiple levels.

  5. VP Product

    WeissBeerger

Ask me about IoT installations in bars and restaurants across South Korea. WeissBeerger normalized offline commercial data and was acquired by AB InBev; I ran the product side of due diligence and post-close integration into a $58B parent.

  6. Founder & CEO

    Varsaty

I love sports, and I've been a founder. Built a player-development platform from zero to four hundred sports organizations across twenty countries, all through PLG.

  7. First Product Manager

    Treato

Talk about changing people's lives. Treato built one of the first commercial NLP engines back in 2007. I had the distinct honor of making otherwise hidden medical insights available to patients globally. The impact is what got me hooked on Product and Design.
